Player Code of Conduct

  • I will show good sportsmanship whether I win or lose.
  • I will show good sportsmanship before, during and after all games.
  • I will control my temper and not retaliate.
  • I will not argue with the referee, even though I will sometimes disagree with him/her.
  • I will play by the rules.
  • I will not use foul or inappropriate language at any time.
  • I will play for fun and the enjoyment of the game. 

Parent Code of Conduct

  • I will not coach my child or other children from the sideline of the game.
  • I will only make positive comments to the players.
  • I will cheer at games within the spirit of fair play.
  • I will never openly question the referee’s judgment. I recognize that referees are a symbol of fair play, integrity and sportsmanship. I know that these referee are doing their best to support my children. I understand refereeing is stressful and that even professional referees make mistakes at the highest level of soccer.
  • I will not use profanity or abusive language.
  • I will demonstrate a positive attitude towards our opponents and their families- these are families in our league and community just like us.
  • I will remember that I want this experience to be fun and rewarding for my child.
  • I understand that improper behavior during a game may result in a parent being asked to leave the field by a referee or FC Cary administrator. I understand that use of profanity, derogatory language and/or racial comments by a player or parent will not be tolerated and will result in the player’s removal from the league. 

Coach Code of Conduct

  • I will show good sportsmanship and respect all referees even when I disagree with his/her decision. I understand referees will make mistakes. I will contact FC Cary with any referee issues I have in a timely fashion, rather than having a personal confrontation with a referee.
  • I will show positive support and respect for all players, parents and coaches at every game.
  • I will not use profanity or abusive language.
  • I accept that I serve as a role model and hold myself to the highest standards of integrity and professionalism by maintaining composure with players, parents and referees.
  • I will ensure a physically and emotionally safe environment for the players.
  • I will learn the Laws of Games and their proper interpretation within our league.
  • I know I am responsible for the conduct of my players and player’s families on my team as it relates to the referees, coaches, players and spectators on the other team. I understand if I have any issues, I should contact FC Cary.
  • I understand that each player should play at least half the game at a minimum.
  • I will coach each player fairly and with respect, regardless of their ability or skill.
