Spring 2021 League Registration is Now OpenUpdatedThursday October 15, 2020 byAdmin.
FC Cary Families,
Please take a few minutes to read the information below carefully before you register your player, as it outlines a few important changes from previous seasons. Our goal is to communicate clearly so everyone will be aware of the policies and expectations going forward into 2021.
COVID-19 Health Guidelines:
As we prepare for the season we realize there are still a lot of unknowns as it pertains to COVID-19. As of now our tentative start for the season will be late February, which is still several months away. We will implement and follow all health guidelines that are necessary during the season.
Team Placement Priority:
As we look to form teams, our priority is to allow friends to play together and we try to keep teams together from season-to-season to help build community bonds. As we return to the fields this spring, we all are looking forward to resuming these valued relationships. At this point, we are unsure how COVID will impact our team formation options. Know that we prioritize these relationships and that we do our best to honor requests to play with neighbors, cousins, carpoolers, and such. This spring may stress our ability to accommodate all requests so we ask that everyone remain flexible and open to changes that may be necessary. We will accommodate team requests where we can but there are no guarantees. Refunds will not be given due to team placement.
Spring League Format:
Our intent is to run a traditional recreational soccer season. Teams will practice once a week and games will be played on Saturdays. The season will now consist of 9 regular-season games (up from 8). This additional game will replace the makeup weekend we have had in the past. Historically player attendance at makeup games has been poor, leading to many forfeited games. We hope that scheduling 9 games from the start will provide more scheduling certainty for families and improve overall game attendance. The season will be capped off with a tournament. We will continue to provide a makeup date for the tournament as necessary so we have the best chance of completing the season-ending event.
You may view additional program details on the following pages:
The fee for the season will be $125 per player. This will include 9 game-weekends, 1 tournament, and 2 game jerseys (home and away).
Spring Refund Commitment:
Prorated refund less a $35 administrative fee.
FC Cary will retain $35 of every registration fee to cover administrative fees. If the season is canceled before completion (due to COVID-related issues) players will be refunded a prorated amount (less the registration fee) based on the number of weeks played in the spring season. This will be determined at the end of the season or at any point a final cancellation is evident. If a player cancels due to injury/sickness or relocation, the $35 registration fee will still apply.
We Need Coaches:
Please register your player a soon as you feel comfortable doing so and if available sign up to coach (or assistant coach) a team. This will help us with team formation and ensure necessary coaching coverage. We are grateful to have such a wonderful pool of volunteer coaches each season. As you know, without volunteer coach support FC Cary would not exist.
We are looking forward to Spring 2021 and getting back to the fields safely.
