Great Day at the NC Walk & Roll to Cure FSHD!

UpdatedTuesday November 6, 2018 byAdmin.

Thank you so much to everyone who supported our FC Cary NC Walk and Roll to Cure FSHD team! We were joined in-person by over 50 walkers with many more families making donations to help support vital research into treatments and cures.

The NC event was the fifth and final Walk & Roll of 2018. Nationwide over $230,000 has been raised by these walks with the NC Walk & Roll having raised over $36,000. Our FC Cary team has raised over $6,300 to date and counting. Donations will remain open for the next 2 weeks.

The day started with social time to enjoy coming together as a community and to get our caffeine fix taken care of. Meredith Huml, the FSH Society North Carolina Chapter Leader kicked off the opening ceremony by sharing her personal FSHD story. Mark Stone, CEO of the FSH Society then provided an update regarding current research, clinical trial readiness, and the challenges ahead for the Project 2025 initiative which has the goal of finding a cure by 2025. With the opening ceremony complete, walkers took to the Bond Park trails for the walk and roll.

To say that we are grateful for the support would be a major understatement. Thank you to everyone who has helped make such a wonderful impact.
